Affiliate Disclosure

Effective date: 9 October 2026

Quiet Concept is free to read and carries no advertising. It is paid for by affiliate commission, and this page sets out that arrangement in full, because a reader deciding whether to trust a course should know who pays for it.

The arrangement

MUSICAL TECHNOLOGY GANG s.r.o., the publisher of this site, takes part in an affiliate programme for the PC game Crossout. The programme is run by an affiliate network — the company that operates the link and records referrals — which sits between this site and the game's publisher.

When you follow one of our affiliate links, the network records that the visit came from here. If you then create an account with that game and confirm your email address, the network credits a commission to MUSICAL TECHNOLOGY GANG s.r.o., paid by the advertiser out of its own marketing budget. You pay nothing extra, and your terms with the game publisher are exactly what they would have been had you typed the address yourself. Nothing is owed if you only read, and most readers never follow a paid link at all.

Where the paid links appear

There are five of them, and they are the only commercial links on the site.

  • On the homepage, in the section explaining where a specific title appears in the course and why.
  • In Step 1, after the worked example that reads a vendor's own description closely.
  • In Step 2, after the section on reading a requirements list.
  • In Step 3, after the general sign-up sequence.
  • In Step 5, after the section on learning a game's loop.

Every one carries a note directly beside it saying that it is a paid link and what we are paid for. None is hidden in a sentence or dressed up as a recommendation. There are no paid links in Step 4, which deals with money and classification, and none on the checklists page. The links point directly at the destination the network gave us: no local redirect, no intermediate page, no script that changes where a link goes. Hover over one and your browser's status bar shows the real address.

What the commission does not decide

The commission does not decide what the course says. It did not shape the order of the five steps, the content of any step, or any checklist, all of which answer what a beginner needs in sequence.

It does not buy favourable description. Everything said here about Crossout comes from what its vendor publishes, including that it runs on desktop Windows and Linux with macOS not supported — a fact that costs us money, since a reader with a Mac stops there, and which is in Step 2 because a reader needs it before anything else.

It does not buy omission. Step 1 explains how free-to-play games are designed to keep you returning. Step 4 suggests spending nothing in the first month and treats randomised items as unsuitable for young people. Step 5 says that deciding a game is not for you is a successful outcome. None of that is what an advertiser would write.

What does decide the content

Three things. What a beginner needs, in the order they need it. What the vendor actually states, with gaps left visible as gaps. And what the responsible Australian bodies publish, which the course links to rather than paraphrasing.

Which specific title is named as the worked example is, honestly, decided by the commercial relationship: it is the one we have an arrangement for. We would rather say that plainly than pretend to an independence we do not have. What is said about it is not decided that way, and the course holds together with every paid link removed. The fuller account of method and sources is on the About page.

What happens when you follow one

You leave quietconcept.online. From that moment the affiliate network and the game's own website may set cookies on their own domains to record the referral, under their own privacy policies and outside our control. We receive only counts and amounts, used to check that payments are correct. This site itself sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, as set out in the Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy.

Trademarks

All brand names on Quiet Concept, Crossout among them, are the property of their owners. Except for the paid affiliate links described on our funding page, none of those owners is affiliated with Quiet Concept, and none has endorsed or sponsored it.

This site is not an official, authorised or partner site for any game or publisher. It describes products; it does not represent them.
